Today is your last full day in Victoria Falls and you are free today to explore this area on your own or to relax around the pool.

With the falls pumping so much water it would be a great time to go up in a microlight for a magical aerial view.  Not only do you see the falls but you are often able to view elephants, hippos and other animals coming down to the Zambezi to drink and play in the water.  The aerial view is spectacular.

There is also a tour to Livingstone Island and you can have breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea on the island, all are great fun.  You are taken over to the island by small outdoor craft and it is here that David Livingstone first encountered the falls.  If you want to go any further you need to don your bathers and go out with the guide to the Devil’s Pool.  Here you are really on the edge of the Zambezi as it cascades over the falls.  It takes a brave person to do this.  For the not so brave, you can walk around the island learning about its history and enjoying the views.

There is also white water rafting for the adventurous, and this is also great fun.  Please be aware that there is a very steep climb out of the gorge at the end of the rafting.

The town of Victoria Falls is small and a great place to walk around and do a bit of shopping, stop for coffee and have a chat with some of locals.  There is a very large craft market in the town and the Zimbabweans are known for their stone carvings, which are stunning works of art. Most of the stone used in their sculpture belongs to the serpentine family.

Whatever you choose to do today, it will be enjoyable.

To end your time in Zimbabwe an evening dinner cruise will be the highlight of the day.  The boat sails at 5pm and you will spend three hours on the mighty Zambezi enjoying the experience of being on the river.  As you sail up river you will start to see the first signs of the sun setting over the water, it is a view that you will never you never forget.  A four-course dinner with wine will be served under the African skies as you cruise up and down the river.  This cruise will be a very fitting end to your time in Zimbabwe.
