Three and a half days in this glorious city was never going to be enough. The weather was perfect, warm, clear skies and no rain enabling us to do all the things on our bucket list.
First stop was breakfast at the Biscuit Mill in Woodstock were a Saturday market brings out local producers and chefs who cook up a storm in a fabulous environment. Woodstock is an inner-city area that is currently going through urban regeneration and there are many artists and designers who have set up shop here together with gin distilleries and boutique breweries. There is lots to do in this area and I can think of no better way to spend a Saturday morning.
One of the first things you notice when you are in Cape Town is that Table Mountain looks down on you no matter where you go in the city and walking around Woodstock we could see that the mountain was clear and therefore it was time to take the cable car to the top. The weather in Cape Town can change very quickly and when the mountain is clear you go. The ride up in the cable car only takes three minutes and as you ascend you get a panoramic view of Cape Town, the bay, Robben Island and the surround mountains and on a clear day it is a spectacular sight. We had magnificent views and as we walk around the top of Table Mountain we were able to see all of the Table Mountain National Park down to Cape Point.
